Fall Catch Up

Welcome Back!!
It has taken a while to get into the swing of things this school year and find time for an update. So this post is a long one covering activities from the first day of school to the present. (Actually it goes from most recent to the first day of school! There's even a slide show at the end.)

POETRY RECITATION
A fall tradition at Hall School is a potluck lunch and poetry recitation .

The kindergarten shared:

I'm a little turkey
plump and wide
feet on the bottom
wings on the side
When I walk I waddle to and fro
Hear me gobble as off I go.
Gobble, gobble, gobble

The lower room sang the lyrics to "Today is Monday" by Eric Carle

Savanna recited:

Table Manners
The Goops they lick their fingers,
And the goops they lick their knives;
They spill their broth on the table cloth --
Oh, they lead disgusting lives!
The goops they talk while eating,
And loud and fast they chew;
And that is why I'm gad that I
Am not a goop -- are you?

The upper room were to write their own poems.

Ahnna's poem:

Gobblers the Turkey
Gobblers was a turkey
my best pal too.
He'd perch on my lap
singing his turkey tune.

One day he disappeared
I looked high and low.
I sat alone listening
for his turkey tune.

Thanksgiving night
We raced into the kitchen
I heard a turkey tune.
On the table Gobblers stood
eating our Thanksgiving dinner
Only a crumb or two was left.

I guess my Gobblers
ran away because
he thought he was
Thanksgiving dinner.

Mrs. Mackay's poem:

Thanksgiving Dinner Wishes
May your dressing be tasty.
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes and gravy
have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious.
May your pies take the prize.
And may your thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!

CHARLIE M. RUSSELL MUSEUM
Our first quarter Accelerated Reading Reward field trip was to the Charlie M. Russell Museum in Great Falls. ALL of the students, grades 1 - 8, reached their goal and were able to attend. We learned a lot about Montana in it's early years.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Our Halloween celebration included trick 'r treating at several Hall homes and businesses and several fun games during our party. Hall School Halloween Parade
